FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is an Ultimate Arcade Machine ?

An Ultimate Arcade Machine is an extreme retro gaming arcade cabinet which plays 1000’s of old school arcade games. Depending on the type of arcade you choose, there may be more extras that are unique to Ultimate Arcade Machines.

How long after I place my order will I receive my Ultimate Arcade Machine?

Delivery times vary subject to which product you choose. For example, if you order one of our flat pack arcades and it’s in stock, you can expect to receive it within 3 to 5 business days. If, however, you choose an Ultimate Arcade Machine build with all the bells and whistles so that it’s ready to plug and play when you receive it, then you will need to allow up to 7 days for the build plus shipping time. Feel free to contact us to get a more accurate quote once you know what product you are going to order.

Delivery of fully built arcade machines around South East Queensland may be done in person.

Can I choose a Custom Design for my Ultimate Arcade Machine?

Yes, you can, however, after you see the range that we’ve pre-designed and what other people have requested, you may want one of those. Keep an eye on our Instagram, Facebook and YouTube channel to see our exciting themes and designs.

How much does a custom designed theme cost?

The price of a custom design varies subject to the type of arcade machine. Please refer to our online store to check the price of a custom design for the arcade machine you’re wanting to order.

Where do you deliver to?

In the short term, we’re only supplying the Australian market. As we grow, we will ship internationally. Shipping is not included in our pricing; we encourage you to contact us for a quote for shipping before you order your arcade machine.

What are the legalities behind ROMs?

It’s our understanding that any ROMs and images available on the internet for download is your responsibility. If you wish to buy an arcade machine with pre-set games, you acknowledge that you have the right to play the games and if you feel you don’t then please do not order a pre-set arcade machine and/or dump the games you do not have the right to use. We do not sell ROMs, emulators or pre-built images, etc. These come complimentary with your build and you agree with the above and accept full responsibility.

What is the difference between a Retropie set up and a PC build using LaunchBox/BigBox or HyperSpin?

Our Retropie builds use a computer board called a Raspberry Pi 3b+ which can support play of up to PS1 before the board starts to become overloaded. Our PC builds use full gaming computers (LaunchBox/BigBox or Hyperspin) to handle far beyond what a Raspberry Pi 3b+ can handle. LaunchBox/BigBox or Hyperspin are both capable of supporting Virtual Pinball and approximately 40+ extra systems to a Retropie build.

I want to build my own arcade machine; do you teach people how to do this?

We don’t run courses nor conduct any one-on-one training for building arcade machines. We do, however, share a lot of information about how to build arcade machines here on our website, on Facebook and Instagram and on our YouTube channel. There is also plenty of information widely available on the internet. If you’ve purchased a flat pack from us and can’t find a product you’re after, we will endeavour to help you source that and complete your build.

Do you sell or create designs for other arcade projects?

Sorry, this is not something we offer at this stage, however, if you have purchased a flat pack from us we will send you a template to use for designing your own art. Once you’ve completed your masterpiece, it’s as simple as saving it as a PDF and sending it to your local printer.

Do you repair or fix other arcade machines?

Presently we only repair our own arcade machines both during the warranty period and after the warranty period.

Do you provide a warranty or guarantee?

All our parts and arcade machines come with a one-year warranty. Any associated shipping costs for a claim under warranty are the responsibility of the customer.

Can I update my Ultimate Arcade Machine?

It is possible, however, if it’s a Retropie build we find that when updates are performed things can go wrong. If this happens you can send back to us your SD card and provided it’s not damaged, we’ll reflash your image. There will be a small charge for this service, so we recommend not connecting to the internet or performing any updates.

If your arcade machine is a LaunchBox/BigBox or Hyperspin build you are able to perform updates and add games, however, please note that this is done at your own risk and we do not accept any responsibility should something go wrong. If something does go wrong, you can contact us and we’ll access your system via Teamviewer to help you fix any issues. Depending on the issue, we may be able to fix it simply and quickly, however, if the issue is quite severe then we may have to charge you for a replacement drive.
